Roger Clark's Capri, won its first event within weeks of the model's official launch. He won a rallycross event staged at croft, five miles South of Darlington, on February 8th 1969. The engine started life as a standard 300000 U6, the heads were built by weslake to make full use of a racing tupe Lucas fuel injection system. The transmission had a Ferguson Torque- splitting differential which gave a 40/60 front/rear transfer to the drive. 0-60 mph was 7.0 secs
